Title: QA Engineer Location: Broomfield, CO Duration: 12+ months Contract Job Responsibilities: We are building software products that will have a significant impact on the healthcare industry and we seek a mid-to-senior level Quality Assurance Analyst to help us in this endeavor. This position, located in the Boulder / Denver area, is with one of the largest companies in the US that is focused on agility, speed, flexibility and fun! The position requires working in an Agile environment and collaborating with Product Owners, Business System Analysts and Engineers to ensure that all requirements are translated in to user stories that are unambiguous and testable. You will execute manual and automated test cases and report results to validate the quality of features, as well as maintaining a suite of smoke and regression tests to ensure continuous quality. Finally, you will produce software quality reports to help management teams track quality, identify problem areas, and implement process improvements and controls. Requirements Include: Technical / Functional Skills • experience with the full spectrum of software quality practices utilizing the Agile methodology in a Scrum framework • proven ability to perform backend and UI testing on API platform • creation, execution and maintenance of all manual and automated test cases • ability to write and execute database queries • understand relational databases • ability to execute Unix commands • management of all test suites for continuous integration, smoke and regression testing • Able to analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, errors, configuration issues and interoperability flaws • have the ability to create performance and load test scripts • monitor and communicate all test results • strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills • gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements • ability to follow best practices and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles • experience writing automated test cases with tools such as Selenium, Eclipse, Maven • applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team (Java, Ruby/Rails, MySQL, Unix, VI) • experience leading, coaching and mentoring junior QA staff onsite, offsite or offshore Soft Skills • Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases. To communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders • Creative solving of technical problems – to ensure the ability translate technical requirements test plans • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensures the ability to find the bad defects and bugs quickly • Ability to think abstract – to ensure ability to not conform to the norm.
