This person chosen for this role must have a technical background testing web applications and be able to independently manage their own work with little oversight. The resource will be joining an existing team testing custom developed software applications and will assist test leads in managing day-to-day system test and regression testing activities. They will provide functional knowledge and test environment support as necessary. The individual will be expected to understand the application requirements and system design and ensure compliance through test processes. Resource will be expected to document test requirements, create test plans and test cases, execute test cases on variety of infrastructure projects. This position requires candidates with a minimum of 2 years experience programming or scripting automated testing solutions and a formal testing background. Responsibilities: - Coordinate project testing, often including testing involving multiple test teams - Review new testing needs and activities and delegate assignments to team members - Mentor other Test Analysts on testing disciplines - Drive out detailed testing requirements and expectations - Develop test strategies, plans, schedules and test cases - Test Execution - Functional, Non Functional, Back out/Implementation, Technical Checkout, Release, others. - Test software and infrastructure technologies, with a focus on open source products - Support UAT Phase - Execute test cases and create defect reports using industry standard reporting techniques Skills/Experience Needed: - Development experience in Object Oriented languages such as JAVA Scripting Language preferably using PERL to write regular expressions - Familiar with Web Development (HTML, XML, CSS, CGI (nice to have)) - Experience developing automation tools and frameworks (nice to have) - Extensive experience with requirements gathering, creating testing strategies, detailed test planning, and test case creation - Experience testing applications and infrastructure in a J2EE/WebSphere/Linux environment - Experience using various test and project methodologies (Agile preferred) - Defect management experience - ITIL or Service Management experience is preferred - 1+ years of Java development experience would be nice to have - Test and defect management using Test Link and Trac Tool - Technical experience with Windows Release processes, Operating systems, Cloud Management Portal experience, testing of virtual workstations will be an added advantage for this role.
