Remote they need 8+.* *Full JD:* *Vormetric is looking for an experienced Windows kernel software engineer to work on technical enhancement for Vormetric Data Security products. * *The ideal candidate has already worked on Windows File System Filter drivers, NTFS file system and understands the difficulty in building an enterprise- level, highly reliable kernel module. * *Candidate should be familiar with concepts behind technologies like Hypervisor, DFSR, CIFS and understand how to analyze memory dumps and debug the kernel modules.* *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* *· Specify, design, implement and port cross-platform kernel software, mostly at the file system and storage level layers. * *· Design code with special attention to performance and correctness * *· Design software that is suited for elastic computing, secure provisioning, secure booting for deployment in large scale configurations be it in the public cloud, OpenStack or the enterprise (e.g. private cloud or virtual desktop environments) * *· Characterize and resolve performance issues * *· Develop unit tests * *· Work with the system test team to define test plans, troubleshoot and resolve software defects * *· Perform research of relevant standards (e.g. NFS, CIFS, and POSIX) and technologies (such as virtual machine architectures, evolution of processor architectures, new file system technologies, security and encryption) and design products that integrate seamlessly into the emerging ecosystems and conform to standards. * *· Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing * *· Must communicate clear functional specifications and design documents and engage with customers on technical discussions* *REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:* *· 10+ years development experience on Windows/NTFS, File System Filter drivers, broad kernel experience in the areas of syscall callbacks, memory management, I/O access paradigms and file system internals. * *· Knowledge of Windows kernel drivers, File system 0* *· filer driver (Legacy and Filter Manager) and Windows storage stack device drivers * *· Knowledge of I/O paradigms of relational database – MS-SQL, DB2, IDS or Sybase * *· Extensive experience in designing and development kernel driver in a multi-processor environment with Windows DDK/IFS/WDK * *· Windows kernel development experience with focus on multi-thread application or driver * *· Extensive C/C++ programming experience, with algorithm design skills. * *· Experience with file system architectures. * *· Experience with filter drivers, storage stack and/or network stack. * *· Experience with file system network redirectors, RPC calls and client/server side caching * *· Strong team player.
