*Job Role: Build and Release Engineer* *Location:* *Pittsburgh, PA* *Duration: 3-6 months CTH (Position will go permanent after 3-6 months)* *Job Description:* The primary responsibility of the Build Engineer is to work with other team members in development, support and QA to establish and maintain a source code control environment. The Build Engineer also ensures that all products are built, installed, smoke tested and released consistently. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* · Design and develop the tools to allow efficient configuration management, build and release of software developed in *C#, XML, .NET, and SQL Server databases* · Establishes and maintains a source code control environment for all products and solutions including third party components · Creates a stable and scalable build system, including build scripts, for all development teams · Assists in establishing and implementing configuration management program, policies and procedures · Performs and manages all software builds and releases to Development, QA, Performance, Production and Training environments · Creates and maintains system versions · Establishes and maintains rollback points and objectives · Integrates fixes and product enhancements into the code repository · Coordinates nightly builds and automated smoke tests · Runs installers in different environments as needed · Works with developers to troubleshoot build problems · Coordinates with teams to produce documentation and release notes · Runs build reports and documents build procedures · All other duties as assigned *Minimum Qualifications:* · Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, , or equivalent work experience · 3+ years project planning or related experience · Proficient in working with *.NET, C#, ASP.NET <http://ASP.NET>, and XML* · Proficient with build utilities like MSBUILD and Visual Build Professional · *Proficient with TFS* · *Experience with automated build tools such as CruiseControl and CruiseControl.NET* · Experience with sophisticated source code control tools such as Team Foundation Version Control · Experience building installation packages.
