*Network Admin/Engineer Pittsburgh, PA 6+ Months Contract* *Max Rate: $35/hr on C2C/1099(No Flex)* *Job Summary:* This position will review, plan, design and implement within the data network services and systems to support core data center technologies. The engineer will provide tactical and strategic direction on data network planning and related projects. *Key Job Elements:* 1. 50% Technical Lead to support the design, installation, configuration, management, and modification of network switches, routers, firewalls, application shaping appliances, content filtering systems, load balancers, network access control/Cisco Clean Access servers and wireless technologies. 2. 20% Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues for various teams including Level 3 support of datacenter environment and all supporting components. 3. 10% Collaboration with the Design team on all planned data center initiatives 3. 10% Perform maintenance and documentation of datacenter systems and devices. 4. 10% Others duties as assigned *Knowledge: *a) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience required b) 5-8 years of experience in the data sector with emphasis relating to the operational support of data networks and network management tools c) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), with a preferred Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) *Skills: *a) Advanced-level knowledge of carrier-based services such as T1, DS3, Metro-Ethernet, ISDN, MPLS, VPN, POTs, Fiber, SIP, QoS b) Advanced-level understanding of network protocols, including OSPF, BGP c) Thorough understanding of network technologies, including Layer 2/Layer 3 switching and routing, firewalls, F5 and Cisco load balancers, Cisco Clean Access, wireless, TACACS, SmartFilter d) Understanding of network tools, such as Solarwinds Cirrus, NetQoS e) Proficient with MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio) f) Previous experience as a data design lead or project technical lead is a plus g) Voice over IP experience with Avaya and Siemens PBX’s (4000 and 8000) is a plus * Abilities:* a) To effectively communicate both orally and written b) To interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and collaborate with other departments c) To adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities d) To manage multiple deadline-driven priorities to successful completion e) To maintain a strong focus on customer service f) To be goal oriented and highly ethical *General Comments* This individual must have solid routing and switching skills.
