Job Title: SENIOR NETWORK / SECURITY ENGINEER Job Type: Contract Duration: 3 months+ *Location : PALO ALTO, CA* *Face to Face * Job Description The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and support of the enterprise data network infrastructure. This individual will perform a wide variety of network responsibilities related to LAN / WAN / Enterprise Wireless and Network Security. In addition, this individual will also provide escalation operational break / fix support for the global enterprise network. The individual will be responsible for the configuration and administration of the multi-vendor network environment. This will include design, operations, administering, maintaining and implementing multi-vendor network architecture. qualifications · Experience and knowledge of the following: Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, Riverbed, F5 LTM and GTM, Citrix, VMware, OSPF, BGP v4, HRRP, Spanning Tree, VRRP, 802.11 a / b / g / n, QOS, JUNOS, IOS, ScreenOS, TACACS+, SSH, RANCID, TCP / IP, DNS, QOS, IPv4, AD, IP Management, Radius, VPN, Network Security, SAAS, Private Cloud, ITIL and Vendor Management. · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. · 5+ years working in multi-vendor multi-protocol large scale network environment. · 5+ years hands on experience working with Juniper, Cisco and Riverbed. · Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. · Solid written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to work with general guidance to effectively perform routine and complex operational tasks and projects. · Experience working with Application network performance testing and tuning. · Solid understanding of switching and routing in a Datacenter, HQ, remote office, call centers, and manufacturing environments · Hands on experience configuring and supporting IP routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. · Working experience implementing and supporting QOS. This entails troubleshooting and ensuring that mission critical applications such as VOIP and VC are receiving desired bandwidth as designed. · This position also requires working experience supporting global WAN technologies such as MPLS, IPSEC, SSL / VPN, ISP / DIA and Point to Point leased lines. · · · *ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES* · This individual will also be responsible for the quality control of the deployed systems. · Implementing network solutions that best utilize *IPSEC WAN* designs in favour of more costly MPLS and L2 point to point connectivity. · Develops and executes plan for network security best practices and security vulnerability remediation’s based on accepted network controls. · Evaluates and recommends network security applications (i.e. IPS / IDS, Malware protection, next generation application aware firewalls, etc.) that help to improve network security posture. · Execute on all aspects of network adds / moves / changes related to Real Estate office initiatives. This will include providing network WAN / LAN / Wireless solutions and based on known industry best practices and internal standards. · Proven ability to create project proposal, project plans and complete project on time and on budget. · Experience implementing network circuits with Tier 1 -3 ISP providers on a global scale. · Understanding of backbone and network hub and spoke network architectures. · Responsible for WAN MPLS and DIA turn ups. Solid knowledge of working with global network providers. · Working experience using Juniper EX4XXX, EX82XX, Riverbed WAN Optimization (550, 1050, 2050, 5055, 7055), Cisco (ASR 1001, 2921, 38XX, 29XX, 19XX, 18XX, ASA), Aruba (3600, 7200 controllers, AP-135s, Airwave, Clear Pass) and F5. · Knowledge of *Datacenter* and branch office firewalls such as *Juniper SRX and SSG* platforms with a working knowledge of security best practices and concepts. This should include experience working with IPS / IDS and familiar with Reseal and Openness. · Knowledge of application flows, packet capture and analysis. · Knowledge of virtualization technology in network, systems and storage. · Perform performance tuning and capacity management analysis that leads to possible recommendations to ensure solutions are scalable but cost effective. · Experience working with network monitoring / troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, AppNeta and Wireshark. · Serves as a network SME for EMEA / APAC business units and helps to deliver timely but yet thorough network designs and solutions. · Expert level relationship management, communications skills and interpersonal skills to manage face to face communications on a daily basis with multiple levels of customer management and engineering staff across multiple departments a responsible and professional fashion. · Must be proactive and take the lead role when required. · Good troubleshooting skills to isolate and identify configuration, design, and software anomalies; ability to clearly articulate findings in written and verbal communications with development level engineering staff. · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple network projects and work calmly under pressure. · Provides network SME operational break / fix support for P1 / P2 service outages. · Resolve open Service Desk tickets related to network infrastructure. · Collaborates with other Network Engineers to define hardware, HA, security, software / firmware and ongoing maintenance standards / practices. · Consistently follow standard change management processes. · Document and evaluate impact of required changes to the various stakeholders and IT. · Plan, schedule and communicate changes to be implemented. · Interfaces with departments and LCONs (Local Contacts) regarding network issues. · Serves as the network SME to assist with network upgrades / proposals that seeks business unit approvals. · Ability to lead or be a team member of any network Proof of Concept initiatives and provide technical and business proposals. · Create, publish and update Network logical and physical diagrams, Knowledge Articles, SOPs and documentation. · Administrative responsibilities for adds / moves / changes. · Works to mentor other peer network engineers / administrators / technicians in various network technologies. *SKILL MATRIX* · Total Experience: · Experience as Network Engineer: · Experience in design, implementation and support of the enterprise data network Infrastructure: · Experience in LAN / WAN / Enterprise Wireless and Network Security: · Experience with multi-vendor network architecture: · Experience with Juniper: · Experience with Cisco: · Experience with Riverbed: · Experience with F3 LTM and GTM: · Experience with Citrix and VMWare: · Experience with JUNOS: · Experience with Application network performance testing and tuning: · Experience in DataCenter switching and routing: · Experience supporting global WAN technologies: · Highest Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience: Thanks $ Regards Shilpa Gaba Technical Recruiter Sage Group Consulting,Inc.
