·        The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the design,
development, delivery and maintenance of the data warehouse and
Microstrategy reporting and business analytics solution within the
CounselLink Application.

·        This is a hands-on technical role with proven experience with
RDBMS and Microstrategy Business Intelligence Suite required.

·        The ideal candidate is a self-starter that is willing to help take
ownership of the reporting space ensuring a robust, scalable, and
performing reporting solution.

·        Responsible for maintaining and supporting reporting and
businessing intelligence technologies.

·        Microstrategy experience (development/administration) required.

·        Supporting data warehouse technologies and data movement (ETL)
services to enable the analysis and reporting of legal and financial data
to support strategic initiatives and ongoing business requirements.

·        Strong SQL and Unix/Linux a big plus.

·        Must be a self-starter that can take initiative to help identify
problem areas and provide solutions leveraging industry best practices
within an agile development environment.

*Job Responsibilities include:*
• Microstrategy Object Creation, Administration, Migration, and performance
tuning
• Strong ETL experience including moving large datasets between incongruent
data repositories.
• Ability to debug SQL queries including but not limited to performance,
efficiency, and accuracy.
• Participate in on call rotation to provide Software Support to customers
as needed.
• Ability to understand complex data models and provide recommendations on
how to optimize them to work in an ad-hoc reporting environment
• Tune MicroStrategy reports for SQL performance and efficiency (strongly
desired)
• Participate in the design, build, release and deployment procedure
• Write, analyze, and debug complex, multi-pass SQL queries
• Interact with business users and analyze user requirements for BI
front-end applications
• Design and create new schema objects (attributes, facts, hierarchies,
tables) for evolving reporting needs. (strongly desired)
• Utilize advanced Microstrategy components such as consolidations, custom
groups, advanced metrics, relationship filters, VLDB properties and Free
Form SQL. (strongly desired)
• Validate data returned in all reports, provide a detailed analysis of
data, and identify data quality issues


*Desired Skills & Experience*
• 3+ years Microstrategy Implementation and Support Experience
• 3+ years experience in Database administration and SQL Querying.
• 3+ Years working in Linux Environment including Bash scripting
techniques.
• Data Model experience (star and snowflake schema) and familiarity with
data warehousing techniques (top-down and bottom-up approach)
• Proficient in Database Architectures and data mappings
• Experience in working with teams to create a data model and data
warehouse
• Advanced knowledge on SQL Server/ Oracle database
• Experience in interacting with business and defining / documenting
business requirements
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
