*JOB DESCRIPTION:*

·         Applicants must have 4+ years of Network Monitory experience in
an enterprise level environment.

·         Company Group Details of the Network Engineer II:

·         The Network Engineer II will work as part of a collaborative team
in a fast paced NOC like environment.

·         The individual will need to be able to troubleshoot high level
issues, have a self-starter mentality while being able to be a team player,
and a willingness to learn and utilize new technologies.

·         Work for one of the region’s Top Financial Firms.



*Requirements for Network Engineer II:*

·         Conducts primary triage within the network and security
infrastructure which includes: routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, proxy
servers, Linux, UNIX and Windows Servers, makes corrective break/fix
actions when applicable, following documented procedures, change control
guidelines and polices.

·         Analyst creates required technical documentation in accordance
with Change Control and ticketing disciplines.

·         Assists in installations and must be able to troubleshoot small
to medium size enterprise branch networks.

·         Understands such topics that include; connecting to a WAN,
implementing network security, network types, network media, routing and
switching fundamentals, TCP/IP and OSI models, IP addressing, WAN
technologies (DS1, ISDN, DS3), operating and basic configuration of IOS
devices, extending switched networks with VLAN’s, determining IP routes,
troubleshooting point-to-point connections, and MPLS connections.

·         Logging events and support requests, gauging business impact,
notifying affected users, basic troubleshooting using pre-existing
knowledge base, documentation, and assigning a priority to incidents.

·         Additionally, Tier 1 activity may involve working with internal
specialists and external suppliers (e.g., field support, carriers,
equipment vendors) to resolve an incident. Tier I resolutions average 30
minutes depending on complexity.





*Technologies for Network Engineer II:*

·         Education or equivalent – Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         Certification – preferred CCNA (CCENT CCT), MCP, VCP, RHCSA,
LPIC-1, Network+, Security+, ITIL training.

·         General troubleshooting of LAN, WAN technologies.

·         General troubleshooting of switching technologies.

·         General troubleshooting of WAN circuits: DS1, ISDN, DS3 circuits.

·         General troubleshooting of firewalls using command line interface
(CLI).

·         General troubleshooting of hardware and software problems on
Linux, UNIX and Windows systems.

·         General troubleshooting of alert messages from Zenoss, Spectrum
and Nagios monitoring systems.

·         General knowledge of Check Point/ASA Firewalls, Blue Coat/ACE
proxies Cisco Voice technologies.

·         Use Alter Point, Info blox Net MRI as well as, Cisco NCS and ANM
configuration tools

·         Monitors WAN and LAN traffic

·         Monitors LINUX/ UNIX/Windows servers’ resource usage.

·         Create, modify and close service request, incident and problem
tickets using BVS and Service Now systems.

·         General understanding of troubleshooting routing protocols: OSPF,
EIGRP, BGP.

·         General Knowledge of event management and packet capture tools.

·         Thorough understanding of IT management guidelines OP 2002,2003,
2005 and 2006
