City: Alpharetta, GA *Description*: Looking for a Sr. Oracle DBA (Operations, Production Support) for a 6+ month contract in Alpharetta, GA with IHG. Candidates must have experience with databases atleast 1TB in size; local, Atlanta area candidates only. Must have a minimum of 6-8 years experience as a Oracle DBA in a UNIX environment with experience in version 11G and 10G RAC Must have Oracle RAC 11G and 10G experience Must have experience with Physical Data Modeling using Erwin. Must have experience converting a logical data model into an efficient physical data model using Erwin and generating ddl to create a database. Must have experience designing high performance oracle OLTP databases Must have experience using ERWIN tool to design databases and generate ddl. Must have extensive experience in Oracle SQL tuning (explain plan analysis, TKPROF, indexing correctly, Stats pack analysis). Must have past experience working with developers to explain oracle features and to create and enhance databases- design and create tables, indexes and all database objects Must have experience with Oracle query tuning for a data warehouse and STAR schema design and use of bit-map indexes. Must have experience with Oracle Very Large Databases (VLDB) of at least 1TB or more. Must have extensive experience in Oracle Database performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and problem resolution. Must have experience with Oracle Grid Control and Reporting using Grid Control. Must have a solid understanding of all Oracle VLDB features such as partitioning etc. Must have strong UNIX skills and shell scripting and ORACLE tools (sqlloader, export, import), Experience with implementing Oracle security features such as encryption and VPD- virtual private database is a plus. Must be self motivated and able to multi-task in a team environment. Must be team oriented. Must have strong organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and able to follow-through with various projects. Must have excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with users. *Education Requirements* Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering/Science or related field or equivalent business/technical experience.
