* * *Job title: **QA *wireless *Telecomm Test Engineer*** Location: CA Duration 6-12 months Rate: $Open /hr on C2C They are looking for a *System Test Engineer* for a contract opportunity (This could eventually be a Contract-to-Hire opportunity as well). There are *5-10* open positions and this is an ASAP need – Other open positions include Telecomm Field Engineers, Telecomm Software Engineers and Developers *Responsibilities:* Experience with data service FIT testing process and procedure of CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS are highly desirable. System Test experience for Carrier Specific test Plans especially Verizon and Sprint. CDG-IOT certification and support of the testing while at the labs. Basic Understanding or experience on WiMax and/or LTE is a huge bonus. Working knowledge of IS-95, CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO protocols, with understanding of the standards, and Failure Analysis via logs. Less than 5% travel to carrier locations for customer support, trouble shooting and also CDG-IOT test labs as needed. *Job Duties: * - Executing and reporting results for Carrier Specific test Plans especially Verizon and Sprint and the ability to interpret and report failures to Internal groups for analysis. - System knowledge to correlate test plan requirements to CDMA standards to successfully execute carrier test scenarios. - Ability to understand CDMA requirements and translate these into test cases/plans for verification. - Usage of Qualcomm and Call box tools for logging and analysis of failure and successful testing scenarios. - Knowledge of Wireshark and Ethereal to capture and debug failures using PPP logs. - Preparation and pre-testing of devices for CDG-IOT certification and support of the testing while at the labs. - Basic Understanding of WiMax, LTE or both is a plus and ability to learn quickly by usage of relevant wireless standards. - Using industry standard test tools, specifically Spirent system, Aeroflex system, Agilent 8960 call box to test various test scenarios. - RF knowledge in IS-98, IS-866 and IS-866A a plus. - Basic programming knowledge in C, Perl, TCK/TCL a plus. *Required Knowledge:* - Knowledge of IS-95, CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO protocols, with understanding of the standards.
