Hi, Position: Java Developer
Location: Newton, MA Duration: 9 months+ Rate: $/hr Start up atmosphere. Tech stack: Linux, Java, Apache, Tomcat, PHP - At their core, the people are strong fundamental java engineers who have worked in a start up. No processes, no documentation, no structure. - TripAdvisor is a heavily trafficked consumer website and the role will be adding functionality to the website. - The resources need to have front end and back end experience. - The culture is that they give people a problem and tell them to solve it any way they can. - *Very entrepreneurial, little structure and oversight. Engineers work with very light spec's. It is incumbent upon them to take the spec's and be capable of asking the right questions to the product managers and other business constituents. * - People that are willing and capable of being the architect, designer and developer. - Very iterative and agile environment. They prefer young professionals, smart kids with good GPA's with Computer Science Degrees. - People need to be problem solvers. People that are into "frameworks" and structure won't cut it. - Need to be able to think outside the box and solve problems.
