Job title: Sr. SQL Server DBA**



Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 7 + months

Rate: $50 /hr on C2C

 *General Qualifications***



   - Experience in administration of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008,
   including the Database Engine, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and
   Integration Services
   - Experience with SQL and DTS/SSIS packages, and proven experience in
   design, SSIS development and manipulation of BI Databases, Data Stores, Data
   Marts, Data Warehouses, Cubes and Reports and Applications development
   projects.
   - Experience in developing hardware specifications for new database
   servers as needed.
   - Experience with ensuring overall health and performance of databases,
   data marts, data stores, and data warehouses.
   - Administers user access protocol.
   - Experience in source Data Mapping and archiving
   - Experience with mapping of logical data models to physical data models.

   - Experience in developing strategies for data acquisitions, archive
   recovery, and implementation of a database.
   - Experience in writing code for database access, modifications, and
   constructions including stored procedures.
   - Experience with Implementing data models and database designs, data
   access and table maintenance.
   - Experience with production support, resolving database performance
   issues, database capacity issues, replication, other distributed data
   issues, and server security.
   - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting database and application
   environments for performance, reliability, availability, capacity, and
   recoverability
   - Monitors ongoing projects with status reports to management.
   - Experience in creation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plan.

*Mandatory Requirements***



   - Minimum of 5-7 years proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database
   Administration (MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008, DTS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS,
   MDX) best practices and the application of policies and procedures through
   database administration experience and/or certification, with practical
   experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high
   availability service as well as in managing the internal and external MS SQL
   database security.
   - Relational database administration skills (security including
   adding/delete/modify user accounts, basic networking, SQL, schema
   creation/manipulation, performance tuning, server hardware, logging,
   monitoring, policy creation and enforcement, Windows Server 2003 and 2008)
   - OLAP database skills (security including adding/delete/modify user
   accounts
   - MDX, performance tuning, good understanding of cube design so as to
   look into issues when users submits issues)
   - Minimum of 3-5 years experience in SQL Server Reporting Services and
   development with SQL technologies, admin (security including
   adding/delete/modify user accounts, schedule and run reports, verify normal
   operations, troubleshoot report parameters, performance tuning)
   - Performance Point, or other OLAP reporting tools (security layer,
   performance tuning, medium programming skills)
   - Integration Services or another enterprise ETL tool (open and
   troubleshoot packages, administer security, run packages, performance
   troubleshooting, file system and FTP concepts)
   - Strong analytic skills with a knowledge of analysis and design
   techniques for BI Databases, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Server Applications,
   and Reporting Systems
   - Superior organizational skills, with a disciplined approach to
   implementation, support and documentation.
   - Self motivated and highly professional with ability to take on
   responsibility, work independently and deliver commitments under pressure
   and tight deadlines.
   - Excellent client (internal & external) communication and liaison
   skills.
   - Ability to prepare written proposals and deliver presentations
   - Knowledge of project management. Knowledge of flow charting and
   spreadsheet software; knowledge of office software: i.e. Word, Excel,
   PowerPoint; knowledge in data mapping and of data mapping techniques and
   concepts; knowledge of operating systems, server security, monitoring
   database capacity, utilization, replication, backups and disaster recovery;
   ability to manage SQL Servers in a clustered environment.



*Other Desired Skills*

   - MOSS 2007, including Performance Point services experience.
   - CommVault backup experience
