*Description:*



·         Required: 9+ years of ETL design, development, and configuration
management experience in Informatica - must be very hands on with
Informatica Designer Components - Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer,
Mapping Designer & Mapplet Designer, Transformation developer, Workflow
Manager and Workflow Monitor.

·         Must be proficient in configuring and connecting transformations
such as Aggregators, Joiners, Lookup, Normalizer, Update Strategy. Should
have developed reusable transformations and mapplets

·         Required: 3+ years of experience in Teradata. Must have used
Teradata tools/utilities such as Teradata SQL Assistant, BTEQ, Fast Load,
Multi Load, Fast Export

·         Required: Must be proficient in writing complex SQLs handling
Terabytes of Data. Should be able to quote real time examples from project
worked. Should also able to code queries using advanced analytical
functions. Must be proficient in writing queries to handle temporal data
(time based).

·         Required: Should have experience in Performance Tuning Informatica
components as well as SQL queries. Should be able to read and understand
EXPLAIN PLAN output. Should have an understanding on how Teradata works and
the impact of collecting statistics. Should also have good understanding of
the usage of various indexes in Teradata platform.

·         Required:  Extensive experience in data loading strategies using
Informatica and/or Teradata.

·         Required: Proficient in troubleshooting issues and bug fixing with
Informatica mapping, workflow and SQL (embedded in Views, stored procedures,
macros etc)

·         Required: 1+ years development experience using Unix Shell
scripting with good understanding of utilities like SED, AWK etc. Should be
able to code “file watcher” scripts, scripts to parse data from control
files, and scripts to manage data on Teradata from ETL server.

·         Required:  Good knowledge of data warehouse concepts. Must have
good understanding of identifying fact vs. dimension attributes. Also,
should have Experience in defining a suitable architecture for data
integration from multiple, disparate data sources including legacy systems,
relational databases, flat files, message queues, spreadsheets, etc.

·         Required: Proven analytical skills and problem solving skills.
Should be able to provide creative solutions with a zeal for automation and
improved productivity. Should be able to quote past experience in this
regard.

·         Strong Plus: Ability to work with ETL Lead, understand business
requirements and help translate them into component/ process/ solution
specifications / design

·         Strong Plus: Exposure to data analysis, data profiling, data
modeling and customer data management. Should have good idea about
implementing data quality checks as integral part of batch process.

·         Desired: Ability to handle large data sets, knowledge of data
integration, validation and processing methodologies

·         Desired: Experience using cron tab / ESP job scheduler





*Responsibilities include*



·         Understand business requirements and create mapping documents to
be used for ETL development

·         Create SQL to use in source views / source qualifiers. Create
macros, stored procedures as required. Also, code BTEQ, FASTLOAD, MULTILOAD
scripts required for loading data

·         Create Informatica components (mappings, workflows, etc) according
to business requirements and design specifications.

·         Create Unix scripts required for ETL processes (parsing, loading
etc)

·         Create scalable / reusable ETL components

·         Perform unit testing for the ETL components developed

·         Troubleshoot Informatica/Teradata ETL issues. Works with technical
staff and business to understand problems with software and develops
specifications for improvements and enhancements.

·         Take ownership of ETL issues during and after the development, and
proactively suggest & implement solutions to prevent similar issues from
recurring

·         Performance tune SQLs, ETL transformations and workflows and
ensure adherence to performance SLAs

·         Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance and
data delivery.

·         Perform emergency bug fixes, emergency code changes and historical
data fixes.

·         Create and maintain schedule entries, audit entries required for
accurate ETL processing

·         Fix issues reported in integration and system testing. Responsible
for bug free code deployment to prod.

·         Adhere to internal quality processes. Should participate in peer
reviews and also responsible to close the issues pointed out in the quality
assurance reviews.

·         Create and maintain documentation  required  for ETL development
