Urgent Client Req: Sr. DataStage Developer Duration: 6 months Location: Riverside, RI Need an ETL Developer with the following Skills - Datastage Enterprise Edition on AIX - UNIX / AIX - UDB / DB2 on AIX - Perl scripting - Java - PL/SQL - Software Development Life Cycle - Unit / Sit Test Case development - Communication Skills - Team environment Summary: Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. Education/Experience: Associate's degree in computer science or relevant field - preferred. 5+ years experience required. Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have a strong command of the English language; written and oral. Ability to work independently and manage one's time. Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. Solid hands-on experience with at least one contemporary data transformation tool. Experience in systems development and programming and mapping business requirements to technical solutions. Excellent working knowledge of RDBMS SQL, DML, XML, and DDL. Detailed knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mart physical RDBMS schemas.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Analyze the data flow requirements and develops a scaleable architecture for extracting, transforming, staging and loading data into RDBMS. Interpret the transformation rules for all target data objects and develop the software components to support the transformation. Test, load and validate data and ETL process.
