My client is looking for a PowerShell Consultant in NYC, NY. Title: PowerShell Consultant Location: NYC, NY Duration: 12 Months Experience Required: 7+ Yrs. Rate: $58/hr. on C2C (All Inclusive) Position Description: This is a Windows engineering role within a highly distributed global enterprise organization. The position is primarily focused on Utility Scripting in PowerShell and Desktop Application Packaging and supporting processes. The position is highly technical and hands-on with a focus Windows desktop. The ideal candidate will have a very strong technical foundation as well as a strategic mindset, good communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others. Integration Engineering Services Job Description: Create automation scripts (using PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) Microsoft Desktop Product Packaging Change management process - Manage software release scheduling Platform / Solution Ownership and Management Coordination of Application Reviews and Turnover process Document Dependencies and Construct Application Stacks Work with Technical Resources from Application and Packaging Teams to determine Application Profiles Evaluate Tools and Provide Solutions to support initiatives Implement Package Testing based on defined process Manage Operations for Integration Engineering Services lab environment (Desktop Support, etc..) Skills Required: Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell is a priority - additionally Perl, Batch, Altiris, , WMI, VBScript, etc.) Extensive knowledge of Windows Operating System and Microsoft based applications and technologies (XP/7 and 2000/2003/2008) Deep technical understanding of Windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, GPO, CIFS, DFS) within the enterprise Deep technical understanding of Microsoft IE Web Browser Technologies Experience managing system and user configuration across large, distributed environments Unattended windows install/modify or update current windows installation process Experience with packaging tools (i.e. Altiris, Tivoli, Wise, etc.) Software Integration, Packaging, Distribution and Patch Management using MSI, SMS, Altiris, Tivoli Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event log, sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps) Experience with virtualization technologies (i.e. VMware, XenServer, Citrix) is a plus Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks) Strong verbal and written communication skills Looking forward to your response...
