Sr. AIX Admin Location: Copell, TX Duration: 12 Months
Exp Level: 10 Years Skills: Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills . Minimum of 10 years experience in network architecture, engineering, systems configuration, performance tuning and storage technologies . Minimum of 10 years experience in AIX administration and engineering . Minimum of 5 years experience in HACMP clustering, VIO server, LPAR, Micropartioning, NIM and other IBM deployment tools" Roles and responsibility . Lead solution architecture for all AIX capabilities . Analyze, design, engineer, and document the standards for the AIX operating system and associated components . Provide level 3 platform support (including problem determination and resolution) for AIX environments . Design and create solutions for Virtualization . Script Virtual I/O Server (VIO) management and deployment . Provide AIX systems administration, systems engineering, and application migration for AIX LPARS in test, development, and production environments . Design, implement and support clustered and highly available systems, including DR and BCP strategies and plans. . Design, implement and support NIM to install and upgrade LPARs . Work on engineering projects to roll out additional operation tools that run on AIX or UNIX . Perform performance tuning, ensure improvement, balancing, usability and automation . Perform application integration to ensure that all software, hardware and middleware components operate properly together; perform performance tuning . Provide input on strategic planning, capacity planning, process improvements, and engineering design . Present project status, issues, and other key information to management, peers and stakeholders . Collaborate with business partners, engineers, technology and operations leadership and peer architects in other areas to ensure clear lines of communication, common architectural and capability assumptions and appropriate urgency for critical path undertakings . Perform other duties as assigned Desirable Technical / Functional Skills . Working knowledge of other UNIX operating systems such as, Linux etc. . Expertise in server hardware and software configurations, functional design, networking protocols, and data analysis . Excellent scripting skills with experience in Korn Shell, HTML and Perl . Extensive knowledge of general infrastructure topics such as SAN, network, database, and server hardware . Advanced understanding of business process implications underlying critical systems .
