*Title:* *Java developer* posted on 2013-06-25 09:06:24 *Job Description:* Job Title: Java Developer Location: Houston, TX Contract: 6+ month contract Responsibilities As a Java Developer you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and implementing new functionality for the Entitlement Management System. This will be a Java-based solution using web services and TIBCO. It will also include a customer facing portal. You will participate in cross organizational programs through participation in and coordination of multiple projects across worldwide lead-to-cash organizations and external partners: Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals. Define technical solutions following the organization’s IT standards Ensure business testing is completed, plan the move to production, and deploy the solution Train application support team and provide support to business operations when needed Critical Competencies to Drive Business Results Actively work to resolve project challenges and facilitates knowledge transfer between team members focused on shared objectives Understands how the business operates and uses this context to drive innovation and ethical decision making; ensures a positive customer experience *Job Requirements:* Qualifications Very experienced Java developer (at least 6 years of experience) with the ability to code without relying on templates Strong practical experience using Java, J2EE/JEE, web services (REST, SOAP), JSP, Servlets, EJB, Oracle, etc. Problem solving and troubleshooting coding errors is a must Working knowledge of authentication/authorization tools and working with Apache/Tomcat & WebLogic Practical experience using other development tools to include Eclipse IDE, Subversion, J-Unit Ability to work with Business process experts to translate specific requirements into a comprehensive functional specification documents. In addition to the Java technologies listed above, technical knowledge and experience in some or all of the following areas is needed: Programming languages; HTML, XML, XSL, C/C++ Operating systems: HP-UX (shell scripting), MS Windows Environment: Client/server, Web Database: SQL, Oracle (Pro*C) Data Encryption Algorithms Any experience using TIBCO’s suite of EAI products (EMS, RV, BusinessWorks, Designer, various adapters, etc.) and/or Informatica PowerCenter ETL tool is a plus.
