*Representative Projects **(2005 to 2013)*

§  *Datacenter Build-Out: *Led the design and implementation effort for a
new Tier 3 datacenter build out from scratch. The old datacenter was highly
complicated and had heterogeneous infrastructure elements. The objective
was to design a new data center reducing the complexity of the
infrastructure in use and improve the availability and resilience of the
infrastructure.
*Results:* The new datacenter was highly reliable with absolutely no single
point of failures for production critical infrastructure. Designed and
implemented data center with enterprise best practices followed for
structured cabling, power, cooling and data center operations.
§  *Desktop Virtualization: *Handled a strategic project to migrate
desktops of Backoffice & Solution Center associates from Physical
environment to VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
*Results:* Around 4000 associates who are mostly task workers (back office,
solution center) have been migrated from physical infrastructure to VDI.
The identified IT challenges and security concerns with Physical Desktop
Infrastructure have been taken care. The new VDI infrastructure offers a
great resiliency for production critical operations and improved end user
experience with respect to standardization and ease of use. This has helped
us improve service levels within IT Helpdesk significantly.
§  *ISO 27001:* Scoped the IT effort for from IT Infrastructure &
Operations perspective for organization's goal of improving security by
going for ISO 27001 certification
*Results:* Carried out a full-fledged Risk Assessment for all IT assets in
our scope and came up with a relevant action plan that is of business
relevance. Highlighted all risks to the senior leadership and addressed the
ones that were of a serious business concern. Obtained and documented Risk
Acceptance for the ones that could not be mitigated. Had the team come up
with Standard Operating Procedures for all the day to day operations and
publish Security Dashboard for sustenance.
§  *Infrastructure Separation: *The IT infrastructure had to be separated,
as one of the three Business Units of the organization was spun-off as a
separate company. A highly integrated and complicated infrastructure had to
be carefully separated without any impact to any of the business units
within the given time & financial constraints.
*Results: *Delivered the project within budget and time. Identified the
dedicated and shared IT infrastructure elements of all the business units
and The project was carried out in two phases: a) Logical Separation within
the same facility as an interim arrangement during TSA (Transitional
Service Agreement) period  and b) Permanent Separation by moving the new
entity to a different facility. Once migrated to a new facility, ensured
that the new entity was self-sufficient in taking care of its IT
infrastructure & Operations

§  *Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity: *Project-managed large-scale
initiative of reviewing Business Continuity needs of every business unit
and ensuring that appropriate infrastructure is provisioned within the
given constraints
*Results: *BCP manual for IT infrastructure & Operations with a detailed
strategy for Infrastructure Failover and periodic BCP drills. Designed and
implemented appropriate IT infrastructure in Primary and DR sites that
would help meet the RTO (Recovery Time Objectives) & RPO (Recovery Point
Objectives) of various business units. Consolidated the silos into a
meaningful aggregate in several areas and helped optimize the resource

§  *LAN/WAN Redesign: *Reduce the complexity in LAN/WAN infrastructure by
migrating to standard infrastructure and using unique IP scope across
locations without any impact to business
*Results: *The complexity crept into the LAN/WAN infrastructure as a result
of Mergers & Acquisitions of number of businesses over several years has
been eliminated by migrating to the standard infrastructure. The phased
approach adopted in executing the project helped migrate all business units
to the new infrastructure without any impact.
