*Duties:*
The Facility Operation and Maintenance Engineer will effectively analyze
and resolve customer data center issues. Analyze, identify, and correct
problems that result in network or system outages, including LAN, WAN,
hardware failures and product defects. Major Duties include:
- Day-to-day systems/network support
- Hardware setup, configuration and administration of UNIX, Linux and
Windows server/client installations and virtualization environments.
- Hardware setup, configuration, and administration of storage solutions
- Active Directory administration and configuration
- Act as a Member of a Ticket Queue System to Address/Resolve Support
Requests
- Root Cause analysis
- Adherence to Network Protocols/Standards/Data Privacy Laws, etc.
*Education:*
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Microsoft certifications a plus
- Cisco Certifications a plus
*Experience:*
*Basic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
- Basic knowledge of DC related software/hardware installation,
configuration and testing practices.
- Knowledge of compute, network, storage and virtualization theory,
design and architecture.
- Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience (7+ years) in five or
more of the following areas of specialization:
- Microsoft Services: Active Directory
- Microsoft Applications: Exchange, SharePoint, SQL
- Compute: Cisco UCS, HP\IBM BladeSystem or rack mount servers
- Storage Arrays
- Storage Area Networking: FC, iSCSI, FCoE
- Virtualization Infrastructure: VMware vSphere, Citrix Xenserver,
Microsoft Hyper-V
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: VMware View or Citrix, XenDesktop
- Data Protection: EMC, NetApp, Symantec,
- Servers Operating Systems: Windows, Unix, Linux
- System Management Software
- Integrated Compute Stack Management and Orchestration Software
- Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Strong time management to effectively and efficiently manage one's own
time.
- The ability to effectively instruct others on how to complete a task
or activity.
- Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate
judgment, and decision making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and expression skills, to
