Please let me know if you have any matching consultants. *Title : Senior Drupal developer* *Location : Raleigh, NC 27609* *Duration : 6 Months* Client is seeking to fill a short term assignment for a Senior Drupal developer to assist with a project to implement a unified look and feel for state government websites. Design must allow quick deployment of a new state brand at some time in the future, to include possible change in colors, fonts, icons and logos. (Use a "Web Zen Garden" type separation of format and content.) Templates must use HTML5 and CSS3, and be responsive (optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile), using a mobile-first approach, progressive enhancement approach, and the responsive framework Bootstrap. Developer will: * Develop custom Drupal modules, templates and themes based on mockups * Develop large scale, responsive websites * Gather requirements and architect solutions on the Drupal platform * Contribute ideas for making the state's websites better and easier to use on desktop and mobile * Adapt/develop robust business user workflow processes * Develop the business user interface, with an emphasis on ease of use for nontechnical users * Employ best practices (no hacking!) and develop documentation for installing themes and setting up modules, to ensure future maintainability by other developers on the project * Advise other developers on Drupal best practices * Participate in usability testing, advise on needed adjustments * Develop a process for content migration The successful candidate will: * Help the state select or build modules for functions that are common across the state, such as calendars, news releases, embedded social media streams, directories, FAQs, etc. Modules must have wide community support and be approved by the state * Assist in Drupal installation and configuration for a large, multi-site deployment, on IIS 7.5 and MS SQL, or potential MySQL on Windows or Red Hat * Possess the heart of a teacher, and be adept at training and mentoring coworkers. * Write clean, modular code to implement the desired requirements with little or no supervision * Participate and advise on cross-agency workgroups for implementation of the web templates across the enterprise. * Work with other team members to triage and fix bugs with rapid turnaround. * Assist in creating a detailed style guide, so that agencies that use of other web content management systems can successfully implement the new state unified web look and feel. * Assist in design of user training *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience * Strong communication skills, for training other staff and bridging gaps between technical and non-technical professionals. * Must be able to create a fully functioning Drupal site from mockup Demonstrated expertise in: * User experience design * Theming * Drupal module development * Drupal 7 * HTML5 * CSS3 * JavaScript/jQuery * MySQL * PHP Experience * Planning and implementing software projects for high traffic websites. * Hands-on Drupal module development experience in a professional environment * Drupal system administration * Demonstrated experience in contributing to Drupal or Drupal modules * Working on highly trafficked websites, including ensuring high availability, performance optimization and designing caching strategies. * Designing large-scale responsive websites. * Minimum of (4) years front end development, HTML, CSS and JavaScript * Team based development experience * Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work without close direct supervision Preferred Experience with IIS 7.5 and MS SQL 2008 R2 Ability to create templates that will be: * Responsive, * Mobile first (progressive enhancement) * Lightweight and all code and images optimized.
