Title: Sr. Java Developer posted on 2014-05-12 17:48:04 Job Description: *LOCAL to DALLAS ONLYUSC/GCs ONLY* Job Description: The Client Team requires a Java Developer with the equivalent of 6-10 years of proven experience in software design, development and delivery. The Client Technology Group is responsible for delivering top quality scalable systems solutions for the Asset Management business functions. The Client Technology Platform consists of mainframe and distributed architecture including multiple interfaces both internal and external to the Client Organization. This position requires a candidate to possess strong software engineering skills, a strong development background to build a Trade Hub solution. The candidate is asked to perform tasks such as design, develop Java / JEE applications, execute test plans, and co-ordinate and implement software migration to a production environment. The Java developer will contribute to the end to end design, development and delivery activities to deliver Client Hub solution. Primary Responsibilities: o Participate in strategic initiatives relating to system development and enhancements o Contribute to system delivery specifications and technical design specifications. o Develop and test the components as per the specification o Participate in all phases of projects. o Manage individual tasks and deliverables in order to complete projects on schedule. o Execute on design and development consistent with approved enterprise architecture concepts, principles and frameworks. o Work closely with the other technology departments within Client Investments Job Requirements: ~~Skills and Knowledge: Required to have “hands on” proven experience and expertise in object oriented design and development in the following technical areas: o Programming and Frameworks – Java / JEE, XML processing frameworks, Spring frameworks and Java Script framework o Applied experience and familiarity with the following is a desired: ß Development Frameworks – Spring framework, Apache frameworks, jaxb or equivalent, ß Build/Dependency Management – Maven or Ant • Security Frameworks – Web service Security and Java Security • Web services Framework – AXIS2 or Apache CFX ß Web Servers- Tomcat and/or other JEE Application Servers ß Database – ORM frameworks like Hibernate/myBatis. Familiarly with Oracle, PL/SQL Stored Procedures ß Operating Systems and Environments – Unix/Linux, Windows • Application Architecture and Design – Enterprise Integration Patterns; Object Oriented Programming; Aspect Oriented Programming; Java Design Patterns; SOA Architecture/Design The Java Developer will have: o Proven ability in application design and development of enterprise solutions o Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to clearly receive and convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical people o Expert understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning o Understanding in User Interface design and web based technologies o Understanding in service oriented development and best practices o Deep understanding of distributed systems o Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Science; MS is preferred o Understanding of Financial Services and Asset Management Industry is a plus o Understanding/Experience developing and designing in an Agile methodology preferred. o Technical leadership and decision making abilities preferred.
