*DESCRIPTION:*

This position will lead the strategic design, development and
implementation of data models for complex, enterprise-level applications
and systems. The Data Modeler will be responsible for translating complex
business requirements into physical data requirements and associated
conceptual and logical data models.  This individual must be able to
collaborate with business users and subject matter experts to gather and
clarify requirements and effectively negotiate solutions. The individual
will provide expert consulting services in the identification and
resolution of complex data modeling related issues. The individual must
possess an aptitude for gaining a thorough understanding of the business
and actively applying it to individual work.  The position must have the
ability to articulate and translate technical language to non-technical
customers and influence all levels across the company within their span of
control.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

·         Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex
transactional and analytical data models from the logical to the physical
design.

·         Provide expertise in industry standard data modeling tools.

·         Translate business requirements into data requirements through
collaboration with both business and technical subject matter experts.

·         Assist business and project development teams with the creation
of database queries.

·         Manage scheduled jobs and provide insight in optimum execution
plans.

·         Responsible for overall database performance, scalability,
flexibility, and usability.

·         Development of data strategy and associated policies.

·         Ability to work on multiple projects.



*REQUIREMENTS:*



·         8-10 years of experience in normalized and dimensional data
modeling and architecture implementation.

·         Expert knowledge of *Oracle* database.

·         Highly proficient in *data modeling* tools.

·         Advanced *SQL* and *PL/SQL* techniques for enhanced data
analysis.

·         Experience with enterprise Software Development Life Cycle (*SDLC*)
and iterative methodology such as Rational Unified Process (*RUP*)

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

·         Experience in *Data warehousing*.

·         Experience in *Enterprise application integration*.

·         Maintain data modeling and data dictionary artifacts.



*OPTIONAL:*

·         Knowledge of *Java*/*J2EE* and *Websphere* *application*
platforms.

·         Strong knowledge *of commodities domain* and commodity contract
management lifecycle.

·         Understanding of commodity pricing and positions data, and
canonical data models.
