Title: Local to MN contract position ETL Tester posted on 2014-07-16 15:49:42 Job Description:Hi, Greetings *Pref Vendor* Mid Level ETL Data Warehouse Test Engineer need in MN Chanhassen, MN Duration : 6 months Need only locals to MN H1s with 10-10 comm skills will work Position Summary Performs functional and regression testing in support of Life Time Fitness’ Reporting and Data Warehouse Team. Provides debugging, and ensuring code is deployed to production without errors or defects. Creation and maintenance of test cases, functional testing, and regression testing in support of Life Time Fitness’ Reporting and Data Warehouse Examples of Work Performed 1. Interact with the developers and business to understand requirements and timelines 2. Create test cases and test beds 3. Execute tests and provide test results 4. Test software manually and with auto testing programs when releases occur 5. Identify and reports risks and problems with new software 6. Assist the developers with code debugging and compliance issues 7. Develop and maintain automation scripts 8. Run data creation scripts 9. Interact with vendors to test 3rd party integrations with Life Time Fitness 10. Write basic SQL to verify test results Minimum Qualifications - Education: Four-year college degree in related field - Experience: - Minimum of 2-4 years of Hands-On QA technical experience - Minimum 2 years of ETL, Data Warehouse testing - Experience in back-end database testing; creating and analyzing database queries, preferably SQL Server 2000 and up - Expert in Query writing, multiple complex joins - Ability to create clear, concise detail oriented test cases. - Strong comprehension of an SDLC process - Experience in agile/iterative environments - Proficient at decomposing requirements for projects of simple to high complexity - Skilled at analysis and troubleshooting in Data Warehouse environments - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Experience with JIRA Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristic 1. Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures 2. Basic SQL database skills & knowledge 3. Ability to multi-task and learn quickly 4. Ability to handle and resolve customer conflicts in a professional, tactful manner 5. Knowledge of standard office procedures and DW/BI software 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 7. Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines independently and within a team environment 8. Ability to analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions. Skills & Required Technical Experience: - A Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Databases, Technology, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of business experience. - MS SQL Server (2005/2008), Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures - SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SSRS - Retrieve data from various sources and prepares data for analysis. Working on data manipulation and extraction using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 - Quality Assurance – Verify accuracy of data pulled and revises methods of data retrieval by following a standard process. Perform internal audits: gather data from various sources/applications and databases to validate audit steps performed; evaluate quality assurance - Develop complex SQL queries against various data and computer sources. Including complex Sub queries, correlated queries, and nested queries. - Analyze and interpret data, producing clear and compelling reports for different audiences which may include graphs and charts of data developed by analyzing situations and/or data models from which answers can be obtained. - Supports business area projects by applying general knowledge of the business area processes including best practices. - May provide data and respond to questions to external groups/agencies/vendors. - Intermediate MS Office skills including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets.
