Title: Network Engineer-Checkpoint - Client : Verizon - Northboro, MA posted on 2014-08-21 15:24:58 Job Description: Senior Checkpoint Engineer Northboro, MA Candidate must be able to work onsite 6+month contract Client : Verizon *PHONE INTERVIEW * The Senior Network Engineer will develop network engineering solutions; detailed design of LAN/WAN/Data Center architecture. Perform installation and configurations of Cisco, and related network hardware and software. Develop all related documentations and test cases. The network engineer needs to have CCNP or CCIE level expertise in LAN/WAN/Data Center and Network design and architecture, installation/configuration, end to end test, documentations and hand over to operations team. Emphasis on checkpoint skill on design and implementation of complex firewall networks. Cisco route and switch experience desired in conjunction with firewall areas. Travel: Monday-Friday in Syracuse NY on a weekly basis. Some remote work is possible but expectation is for candidate to be onsite for this period. *SKILLS: * LAN/WAN Data Center Architecture: CheckPoint: *IDS: * *IPS: * *CISCO: * Juniper: *F5: * Cisco ASA: *R65: * *R75: * Required qualifications: 7+ years experience in LAN/WAN protocols (Cisco, Juniper, F5): OSPF, BGP, 801.1Q, MPLS, QoS, Multicast Proficient in developing documentations of solution/configuration/operations in Visio and MS Office products 5+ years experience in developing network test cases and performing tests. 7+ years experience in network troubleshooting using various tools: Wireshark, Sniffer, Solarwinds, etc. Deep understanding of network management tools VoIP is a plus. Demonstrated Strong infrastructure design/configuration/test/trouble shooting ability. The ability to identify and develop new network solutions for customer projects. Broad range of experiences designing and architecting complex structures and networks. Ability to create detailed documentations and test plans Ability to work well in a team. Desired qualifications: 3+ years experience in Firewall and network security solutions: Check Point, Cisco ASA, IDS, IPS, Filtering, Radius, VPN, Riverbed Steelhead Certifications: CCNP or CCIE (required) Check Point (R65 or R75) (desired) F5 or Juniper certifications (desired) Minimal Qualifications The following are considered minimal qualifications for all consulting roles: A minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field or work experience equivalent, Past consulting experience as the individual will often be acting in a consulting role and as a technical advisor, A willingness to perform some level of travel to customer locations 7+ years of Industry experience in related field The ability to articulate solutions to such diverse constituencies as project managers, clients, business stakeholders and engineers, and to coordinate (with both project management and engineering) major systems events such as application upgrades, launches, load tests and deployments, A willingness to learn new technologies and their applications in the enterprise, The ability to quickly understand and be able to articulate business impacts of technical decisions and drive solutions to specific business problems through the effective use of technology.
