*Overall Job Purpose:*
Work within the Core Application Delivery team to oversee and participate
in project initiated functional enhancements to the Barclaycard US Customer
Acquisition Platform.   Provide expert knowledge and guidance for
acquisition related backend Java and/or frontend Web features. Ensure that
the development teams are adhering to the Barclaycard US SDLC process.
Provide technical design documentation to project extended delivery teams.
Provide guidance to Leadership for emerging technologies and opportunities
for improvement and areas of innovation.

*Technical Skills:*
For Java positions:
Java, JEE, Javascript, O/R
Mapping, SQL, PL/SQL, Unix
scripting, UML, Eclipse or similar IDE,
Frameworks (Stripes, Spring, Hibernate),
CVS/SubVersion,
HTML, CSS
TCAT/Tomcat
Middleware frameworks (Webservices, REST, ESB)

For Web positions:
HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, any javascript libraries/frameworks, responsive
design concepts,
Adobe Photoshop,
SubVersion/GIT

*Key Accountabilities:*

·      Develop and update new & existing Customer Acquisition solutions.

·      Build applications using Java with Spring and Hibernate deployed to
TCAT (if applying for Java position).

·      Create new and innovative ways to improve Barclaycard US applicant
experience.

·      Provide overall guidance and actively contribute in the development
of applications.

·      Development tasks include: coding, testing, debugging, documenting,
peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support.  All tasks are
performed in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal
procedures and standards.

·      Work with internal departments to provide associated artifacts
required for the successful completion of development and maintenance
assignments.

·      Contribute to task identification, work effort estimates, and work
schedules for development and maintenance activities

·      *10+ years of experience in design patterns, MVC, clean code best
practices, stubbing/mocking with a good experience in TDD.*

·      *5+ years of experience in test automation (unit testing, acceptance
testing)*

·      *Load testing, smoke testing experience a plus*

·      *5+ year of experience in building automated deployment pipelines*

·      *Experience or high level knowledge with tools like Junit, Jasmine,
Sonar, Jenkins, SVN, Chef, Puppet, Nolio, Selenium, QTP, Seatest, Assana or
Jira (3 or more)*

·      *2+ years of experience with Agile (starting, converting, leading
agile teams a plus).*

·      *Eager to learn and keeps up to date with the following concepts:
DevOps, Cloud base systems, Testing automation, Agile Scrum, TDD.*

·      Proficient in JavaScript, handle click actions, validate input, call
custom code actions to render content and page transitions (if applying for
web position)

·      Working experience with JSON, REST and Ajax.

·      Experience in developing ADA compliant web pages (if applying for
Web position).

·      Experience with web page performance tools (if applying for Web
position).

·      Previous experience in working with internet/intranet banking
applications preferred.

·      Experience leading and mentoring teams in a geographically
distributed environment

·      Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·      Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related major
