I really appreciate for your time and help Role: Senior Data Modeler Location: Pasadena, CA Duration: 12 MONTHS Job description: Excellent Comm. Skills ***Job history must be focused on data modeling. We do not want an architect or DBA with data modeling experience.*** Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree with emphasis in computer science plus a minimum of 7 years in a large-scale development environment, or 2 years experience in Kaiser Permanente lead level Data Management family. * Experience with relational database management systems and with multiple programming languages and tools. * Strong understanding of data analysis, data and process modeling and relational database concepts. * Excellent analytical skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong customer service orientation. * Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently. * Experience with structured methodologies, e.g., Information Engineering. * Experience with at least one major CASE or modeling tool, e.g., IEF/Composer/Cool:Gen, ADW, ErWin, Rational Rose, etc. * Experience training/developing other Information Architects. Health Care industry experience is strongly preferred. * Experience in the Kaiser Permanente development environment, and in client/server development and distributed databases is preferred. * Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques is a plus. Duties: The primary responsibility will be to act as an internal consultant on information architecture for application development projects. Responsibilities will include: * Lead or participate in the development and management of Information Architectures that meet requirements for Business Intelligence (BI) solutions; work closely with database administrators, ETL and report writer staff to use the data model throughout the whole life-cycle (e.g., generate DDL, prepare and assist in the load of data models for BI tools, second-level support for performance tuning etc.). * Perform data analysis and modeling for development and maintenance projects. * Participate in the development of standards and procedures affecting Information Management. * Assist in the development of task lists, project plans, and workload estimates. * Participate in walk-throughs of work products such as data models, implementation architecture, documentation, etc. * Perform impact analysis for requested changes or additions to data structures. * Consult with end-users and applications development staff to ensure conformance or recommend updates to established architectures. * Work both independently and collaboratively within one or more project teams. * Follow established departmental standards, procedures and guidelines.
