****Oracle Production DBA* *Need ASAP...... Location:* *Dulles,VA** Duration:*6 months* Rate:*$45/hr ** *Oracle 9i / 10g Production DBA * Experienced *'Production' DBA with strong Oracle* experience (*9i and 10g) * · Qualified candidates will be responsible for administering production databases in a 24X7 environment mainly on *IBM AIX and Linux*, with some databases on Windows. · Candidate will work with a team of DBAs supporting multiple instances including Production, User Acceptance and QA databases. · Many of these databases are mission critical to both internal and external clients. · The DBA team is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, failure avoidance, detection and repair of these instances. · Qualified candidates are expected to use DBA skills to secure production database uptime and availability. · This includes ongoing *space maintenance, DB tuning, DB debugging, backup and recovery, configuration maintenance and deployment of application code*. · The successful candidate will have at least *5 years of Oracle DBA * experience and be comfortable in both self-managed and team driven tasks. · This includes being part of a 24x7 on-call pager rotation. *Responsibilities: * Provide expertise and recommendations for Physical Database Design and Architecture, testing, performance tuning, and implementation Participate in the strategy, design, and implementation for backup, restore, high availability, data migration, and environment creation Perform DBA tasks such as: server administration, performance tuning, table maintenance and troubleshooting experience *- * *CANDIDATE MUST HAVE: * 1. 5+ years of experience with in depth knowledge of *Oracle 9i and 10g Server administration * 2. Experience using *Oracle Standby, High Availability, Streams technologies, partitioning, RMAN, OEM *3. Proven ability to install and configure new database releases, management of database tables - sizing, expansion, protection. 4. Ability to diagnose and correct problems such as but not limited to: errors caused by program faults, system resource limitation 5. Strong Performance tuning skills. 6. Global Production Support experience.
