Responsible for defining testing strategies and leading test activity. Familiarity with test-driven development is an important component. Testing areas include web applications, web services, mainframe and client/server integration, user interface and validation routines, database development (including stored procedures), and security testing. Familiarity is needed with test scripts, unit test strategy, test automation, exploratory testing, edge testing, and user acceptance testing. The ability to be hands-on is needed as is the ability to coordinate developers and analysts assigned to testing work (QA as a shared responsibility). *Required Experience and Skills:-* 6+ years of testing experience 4+ years testing web-based applications 2+ years testing in an iterative development context Experience using open source test tools Knowledge of web services and XML 3+ years of database experience, ability to work with SQL Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively *Desired experience :-* Prior development experience Knowledge of web servers - WebSphere, Apache, etc. Familiarity with Java and at least one common web scripting environment (.Net, PHP, Cold Fusion, etc.) Ability to write technical specifications, program documentation Client is particularly interested in applications from individuals who have worked on Human Services systems in the public sector, particularly at the state level.
