Location: Secaucus, NJ Duration: 6+ Months MUST BE STRONG WITH THE FOLLOWING: - SQL Server 2000/2005 - Performance Tuning and Optimization - Database replication - Full Text Indexing - Cubes and analysis services - SSIS - Data Modeling - Meta Data Authoring - SQL Server 2008 ( A BIG PLUS) - Visio - Erwin Applicant must meet ALL of these requirements A. Project Description: The Global Independence Systems (GIS) is a complex suite of applications which support Global Quality and Risk Management for the client. These systems reduce the risk to the firm in the area of independence by enforcing the restrictions for both our client-serving personnel's financial portfolios (Personal Independence) and the scope of services that the firm can offer to our clients (Firm Independence). The most difficult aspect of these systems is gaining an understanding of complex data and relationships related to publicly traded companies, their corporate "trees" and the securities they issue. Successful candidates working on this team have had some background in the financial services industry or professional services. B. Give a high level explanation of the application or technology that this candidate would work: SQL Server 2005, Replication, Performance tuning of database and stored procedures. C. Description of day to day tasks: Candidates must have superior analytical skills and should be able to work in a matrix environment with managers and developers multi-tasking between numerous systems. In this position the Application DBA will interact with project managers, developers, technical architect and customers. Following SQLServer skills are mandatory: 1. Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2005, 2. Strong knowledge and working experience with Replication, 3. Performance tuning of database and stored procedures. Ideal candidate will have had extensive experience in a complex data environment with constantly changing needs from clients, while maintaining the integrity of the database. D. Description of the technical environment: ASP.NET/ SQL 2005/ Webservices/XML Interfaces E. Additional Information: Certified Microsoft Professional and Computer Engineers is a plus Prefer the candidate live within a one-hour commute.
