Position: Web Developer/ Presentation Layer Developer *Duration: Long Term* *Location: Baltimore, MD (Multiple Positions)* *Rate: ALAP* *Job Description: * * * - *Senior HTML Designer* -- *Presentation Layer Developer* - *Requisition Details* - The Lead Presentation Layer Developer candidate shall possess substantive Information Technology knowledge and have extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting HTML pages and content. - The candidate must have demonstrated hands-on expertise in analysis of problems and technical requirements in computing, networking and application areas specified in a work order, and shall possess extensive experience in evaluating, implementing and supporting the use of appropriate solutions for these problems and requirements. - They must understand all tiers of development as well as database connectivity and structure. - They will have prime accountability for major projects and will develop requirements, code, test, and implement proposed systems. - The candidate will work without technical oversight or as the leader of a team as required. - May serve as a Work Order Manager. - The candidate must be detail oriented and well organized, have superior oral and written communications skills, and be able to work well in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment. - They must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet aggressive goals, objectives and timelines. - The candidate must have thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. - They should be proactive and self-motivated; a team player who can adapt to changes in client requirements. - The candidate must be able to read current code and hit the ground running and have the ability to research problems and provide solutions. - Project management experience is desirable. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture is a plus. - *** *Ability to demonstrate previous work via URLs*. *** - Must have t least 3 years of experience designing and developing *HTML pages, CSS, DHTML *and *XML*. - *_Principal Functions:_* - The primary focus of the *Web Developer* is the *Presentation Layer*that supports *webstores, utilizing technologies* such as *HTML/XHTML, CSS/CSS2, JSP*and *JavaScript*. *Web developers* are involved in all phases of a project including: planning, reviewing specifications, documentation, scheduling, development, testing and ongoing support. - Extensive experience using *JSP, JSTL* and *JSON* to develop *dynamic websites*. - Expertise in the usage of *CSS / CSS2* and proficient with *XML*. - Passionate about producing clean, standards-based semantic mark-up. - Intermediate to *advanced Javascript experience*. - Ability to write *Object-oriented Javascript*, or at minimum have experience using any of the industry-standard *Javascript libraries* such as *prototype, scriptaculous, dojo*, etc. - Solid understanding of development best practices for Search Engine Optimization and Accessibility. - Attends client-driven meetings and transcribes accurate and robust meeting minutes on behalf of SSA. - Assists in translating business specifications into technical specifications. - Provides input for technical reports and documentation. - If serving as a Work Order Manager, additional functions will include: - o Manages resources assigned to the work order. - o Monitors budget for the work order. - o Oversees all activities related to the work order. - o Participates in status meetings with SSA counterparts, as required. - o Ensures effective communication on all work order issues. - **_Required Skills: _** - *JSP, JSTL, JSON, XHTML, CSS, XML, JAVASCRIPT* - **_Typical Minimums:_** - Bachelor's degrees from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years or more of professional.
