The primary goal is to provide *IBM RAD 7 / WebSphere development &* support for the HHSC Medicaid Contract Administration Tracking System (MCATS.) The system is new development work, but will be incorporated into an existing production application so some maintenance work will also be required. The hired resource will work with existing staff as a *WebSphere developer* on the HHSC Contract Administration Tracking System (HCATS / MCATS) *WebSphere / Oracle Application *team. The individual will perform the full scope of development, monitoring, and administrative tasks related to the creation of a STRUTS 1.3.x front-end / *WebSphere middle using IBM RAD 7*. The JSPs must comply with accessibility standards. Additionally, this resource will be called upon to assist the currently assigned project staff in the preparation of system and user documentation. *Work Description* · Web Application analysis, design, and implementation in the RAD 7 / WebSphere environment. · Perform all WebSphere development duties, such as create secure Struts based JSPs, create action and business object classes, create EJB Session and Data Access Objects, create and modify Oracle stored procedures as needed, prepare documentation, and implement accessibility standards. · Knowledge transfer to HHSC technical staff. · Maintenance and defect resolution as identified. · Respond to other problems as identified. *Project Deliverables:* · The Medicaid Contracts Administration Tracking System (MCATS) deployed to our production environment. · Required Supporting Documentation such as SRS The services to be provided include, but are not limited to the following: · Assist with production and documentation of the deliverables. · Perform full scope of development, monitoring, and administrative tasks related to the creation of a *WebSphere/Oracle Web-based application*. · Work in an integrated, team-driven, development environment. · Duties will involve actions related to all parts of the applications lifecycle (development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and limited customer support). · Transfer knowledge to transfer to all intermediate/junior level development team members. · Other duties as assigned. * * II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum Requirements:* Years Skills/Experience 6 Application development experience involving enterprise-level IT solutions. 4 Web-based application development for both Inter- and Intranet environments. 3 Extensive knowledge of IBM RAD 7 / WebSphere, Java Strong Experience with STRUTS Strong Experience with accessibility standards, such as section 508, and/or JAWS Strong Extensive knowledge of IBM WebSphere, and Sun Java. J2EE Development JDK - (Servlets, JSP, JSF, EJB, JDBC, JMS) and J2EE specifications. Strong Ability to produce clear and concise documentation (technical & customer). Strong Participate in customer JAD sessions when required and assist in system re-design by offering suggestions defined within the scope of the project. Strong Willingness to work flexible hours. Strong Ability to produce clear and concise documentation Strong Ability to work in a team environment. Strong Strong understanding and knowledge of the WebSphere/J2EE architecture, EJB, OOD skills, and J2EE integration points with external or third party products. Strong understanding of the MVC pattern STRUTS2 1.X framework * Preferences:* Years Skills/Experience 2 - 4 Experience with Oracle 9i and above using Stored Procedures, materialized views, and analytic functions 1-2 Experience within a Health and Human Services Commission Agency desired Experience with NDS security HHSC Agency knowledge Knowledge of IBM Websphere Portal Knowledge of SOA.
