I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The primary goal is to provide *database development* support for the HHSC
Medicaid Contract Administration Tracking System (MCATS). The system is new
development work, but will be incorporated into an existing production
application. This would be done through working with existing staff as a
database developer to create schemas in the HHSC Contract Administration
Tracking System (HCATS) Web Sphere/Oracle environment. The individual will
perform full scope of development, including table design, triggers, PL/SQL
stored procedures, necessary scripts, tuning, change management and
promotion relating to a web-based database application. Additionally, this
resource will be called upon to assist the currently assigned project staff
in the preparation of system and user documentation
*Work Description*
· Database analysis and design
· Perform Oracle database development duties such as create schemas,
performance tuning, move data between environments (development, testing,
training, production)
· Knowledge transfer to HHSC technical staff
· Develop and maintain automated routines, stored procedures, and
scripts
· Respond to problems as identified
*Project Deliverables:*
- Documented database objects, including tables, views, triggers,
indexes, and stored procedures necessary to support the MCATS web-based
application
- Assist with production and documentation of *the deliverables. *
- Perform full scope of development, monitoring, and administrative
tasks related to the creation of a Oracle database application.
- Work in an integrated, team-driven, development environment.
- Duties will involve actions related to all parts of the applications
lifecycle (development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and limited
customer support).
- Transfer knowledge to transfer to all intermediate/junior level
development team members.
- Other duties as assigned.

Writing stored procedures, triggers, functions and other database objects in
Oracle 10g.

Working knowledge/experience with Oracle 9i and above supporting large
production environments

Extensive knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with PERL or other scripting
experience

Oracle / database administration of high availability systems
Strong
Ability to produce clear and concise documentation (technical & customer).
Strong
Participate in customer JAD sessions when required and assist in system
re-design by offering suggestions defined within the scope of the project.
