Lead QA Engineer with Java J2EE Development background. Location: Emeryville, CA Duration: 6 months *In person required after phone screens** * Ideal resource would have a test automation and application development background. * * *Responsibilities** * - Perform Senior QA engineer tasks for testing a complex web-based application and its associated components developed using Service Oriented Architecture. Demonstrate experience and leadership in software testing methodologies, testing approaches and planning, QA processes, defect and metrics tracking. Work to ensure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. Communicate with product developers, technical operations and architects on product issues. - Define, Develop and Execute Test engineering tasks, which include reviewing product requirements and analysis, executing test plans and test cases, monitoring/analyzing Test results, collecting Test metrics and conducting Test reporting. - Function and interact across teams in a large organization to execute multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously with input from several resources. - Provides constructive feedback about the consistency and depth of the requirements. Develops and Improves testing methods and processes and overall quality of testing deliverables. Develops and executes test plans to perform all aspects of quality assurance, including functional, regression, and system testing - Identifies and communicates issues/risks applying technical and root cause analysis skills. *Requirements:** * - 7+ years of Testing experience with strong background in Software Quality assurance. - 5+ years of Testing software in a complex, large, scalable, distributed environment (SOA architecture a plus) - 5+ years of Testing experience for multi-tier web based applications built using JAVA/J2EE technology stack. - Good understanding of web based service-level interaction, able to debug/trace low level HTTP(s) data interchange. - Experience with server configuration, environment setup and debugging skills. VmWare a plus. - Thorough orientation in RDBMS concepts, SQL, stored procedures, and awareness of schema and data optimization principles. Experience with Oracle and Sybase a plus. - Highly proficient in a Unix/Linux environment. Knowledge of any scripting language a plus.
