Security System Engineer Rhode Island 8 months+ Resposibilities: * Provide Tier III level support for Client IDS/IPS in a dedicated customer role made up of ISS SiteProtector, and Proventia appliances. *Respond to escalations from MSS SOC and the customer to provide technical expertise on the above mentioned platform by coordination with appropriate external vendor support. * Document and perform system upgrades, regular product updates, emergency patch applications, and define monitoring requirements * Test updates and patches in a test environment and ensure these updates and patches are installed and stable for 48 hours (at a minimum) before installing them on any customer devices. * Ensure the approval process is followed for change control and written approval is given by the customer before performing any maintenance to devices on the customer network. * Coordinate maintenance windows and delegate these tasks to security analysts. If needed, you may be required to directly perform the tasks at varying hours according to the maintenance window. * Participate in conference calls with multiple departments within the customer to assist in any network and security issues. * Work closely with Health analysts to resolve device health issues and maintain constant communication and visibility to all IPS devices. * Ability to work weekends and late nights based on client demand and field support requirements.
