Our client is seeking a short term (approx. 6 month) contractor to provide IT Operations Support Services. ** The selected candidate responsibilities will include: Installation, maintenance, and support of Sterling Commerce software application called Connect:Direct. Perform software upgrades and ensure that installations are complete and working properly including developing accurate test plans for successful implementations. Working with customers to schedule installations, maintenance, and upgrades.
Supporting Connect:Direct existing customer implementations as well as assisting in new implementation requests. Working with the vendors to ensure the software is kept up to date and reporting any problems with the software to them. Supporting customers with problems or questions that they may have with Z/OS File Transfer Protocol (FTP). ** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: Must have mainframe systems programming experience including extensive knowledge of TSO and JCL. - Include knowledge of and experience with customizing software applications for site requirements and customers needs. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of software installation using the SMP/E environment. Software installs, maintenance, upgrades, PTFs and APARs.
