100% CLOSABLE OPPORTUNITY WITH MY DIRECT CLIENT - RESPOND ASAP Our client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a SQL Server DBA for a long term (6 - 12Months+) Located near Los Angeles, CA You need to have atleast 3-5+ years of experience working on SQL Server DBA Role: SQL Server DBA Location: Los Angeles, CA Employment: Contractual Start Date: ASAP Rate: $Negotiable Duration: 6 -12 months+ SQL Server– JD. Mandatory Skills: • Minimum 6 years of hands on experience in managing SQL Server in production environment. • Willing to work in a large High availability 24 X 7 site involving complex SQL Server of OLTP / OLAP nature. • Should have excellent ownership & Sense of urgency nature to be able to cater services to the business as per the SLA’s (Turn around times) defined by the customer. • Should have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Change Management : • Proactively monitor alerts being paged by Databases and fix them. Work towards reducing the number of alerts by fixing the repeating chronic issues. • Be able perform code moves / deploy new releases as per the Date & time of execution. • Perform clones / Refreshes from Production to non production environments. • Be able to perform New installations / upgrades / releases and follow the process / security guidelines defined by the customer. • Provide support from a database standpoint during the planned outages / Patching / Server moves. Backup & Recovery: • Ensuring that Daily backups of all the databases are being successful. Fix incase of any issues. • Perform Regular backup audits and Report to internal & External Customers. • Being able to perform recovery (point in time / transactional ) depending on the requirements. • Perform yearly SOX recovery tests for all the SOX Tier 1 Databases. Performance Tuning: • Provide proactive & Reactive tuning support primarily for the infrastructure issues. • Work with the customers in interms of providing the dashboards / metrics over the performance calls. • Be able to use all the internal tools that Sybase and SQL server provide for performing the performance analysis on the database. Working knowledge on oracle database administration would be a Big plus.
