*Job Title: Senior Java Developer* *Duration: 6months Location: NY* Senior Developer is a key team member of the development team. This person will be responsible for a portion of the overall system solution including design and implementation tasks. Their responsibilities differ depending on the phase of the engagement. Responsibilities: Build software components that comply with the application architecture and detailed design Work with project managers and/or clients to scope work and produce estimates to help define deliverables and timelines Select technologies, recommend architectures and create technical design based on client requirements Qualifications:
4 to 7 years experience developing database-driven, web applications in Java. Experience with Ruby/Python and/or Flex/ActionScript a strong plus Proficiency across the range of J2EE technologies, especially Servlet API-based programming, JSP, JDBC, JMS, etc. Solid experience with front end development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX) a must Strong Object Oriented Design and experience developing high-performance systems and web sites (caching, performance, messaging, serialization, etc) Hands on experience in open source technologies like JBoss, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Axis, etc and developing applications in a J2EE environment Experience in open source web development frameworks like Struts, Hibernate and Spring Hands on experience using frameworks like WebWork, Struts 2, Spring, Acegi, Compass a strong plus Ability to pick up new technologies and languages by oneself to deliver client projects Experience working in a fast changing environment with tight deadlines Knowledge of RDBMS, database design and performing data extractions, conversions and manipulations.
