Job Title : Sr.Ab Initio Developer - Direct Client Requirement
Location : Colorado Springs, CO
Duration : 12 to 18 Months
Project Responsibilities:
? Responsible for design and implementation of extract, transformation and
load processes using Ab Initio as an ETL tool for data migration projects
? Proposed a high level and a low level design document for processing each
feed and documenting the various
implementation done during the course of the project.
? Responsible for creating the (MFS) Multi-file, which gives the user the
ability to centrally control the distributed data files and they provide the
scalability and the kinds of access patterns that parallel applications
require
? Developed complex transformations according to various business
requirements, to produce new fields on the output
? Used various partition components like Partition by Key, Partition by
Round Robin, and Partition by Expression to partition large amount of data
into simple flat files.
? Developed Complex Ab Initio graphs using various components such as
Reformat, Join, Roll-up,Join with DB, and Filter by Expression, Sort to
facilitate data extraction from Teradata to Oracle Tables. The components
used depends upon the various business requirements
? Performed data cleansing and data validation, while creating Ab Initio
graphs by using inquiry and error functions like is_valid, is_defined,
is_error ,is_null , various string functions like string_trim,
string_concat, string_substring etc and various decimal functions like
decimal_strip,decimal_lpad, etc
? Involved in frequent correspondence with the data warehouse team for
identification of the required data warehouse deliverables.
? Improved the performance of Ab Initio graphs by using various performance
techniques like using lookup’s, roll-up’s, in-memory joins. These techniques
enables speedy execution of Ab Initio graphs, thereby improving execution
time
? Various file management commands like m_ls, m_wc, m_mkfs, m_copy, m_dump
were used extensively to operate with multi files
? Phasing and check pointing were used in the graphs to avoid deadlock and
recover completed stages of the graph, in case of a failure. Thus, improving
the reliability of the application.
? Responsible for profiling the test data using data profiler to analyze
the various statistics of the fields involved in the transformation process.
Enviroment need to work for this project: Ab-Initio 1.15 ,GDE with co-op
2.15, Oracle 10gi, Teradata 12.0 , Sun Solaris 5.10, , Unix Shell
Scripting, Teradata SQL Assistant 7.1,Toad 9.7,Windows XP.
