The Oracle Apps DBA will be responsible for implement, maintenance and daily operations/support of production and development databases. He/She will work closely with the development team to provide optimized, highly available enterprise databases for transactional and analytical applications. Overall Responsibilities • Production Support (Monitor database, resolve production support issues quickly and efficiently including off-hours support when needed, database back-ups and guidance for improvement). • Change Management (Patching, Database Overlays/Refreshes, Promote code into production). • Optimization (High Availability, performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, replication). • Create and maintain process/procedure documentation. • Install and upgrade various Oracle products and toolsets. Desired Qualifications and Experience: • BS in Computer Science • Solid understanding of relational database concepts. • · Oracle 9i/10g/11g running on Solaris/RedHat Enterprise Linux. · Configuration and Administration of Oracle RAC/ASM. · Database backup and recovery using RMAN, Hot backup · Oracle Partitioning · Replication Oracle & Shareplex · Good working knowledge of UNIX Operating system (Solaris) and Linux. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment with people of diverse backgrounds. · Ability to multi-task, be flexible under pressure, and work with changing priorities in a dynamic environment. · Experience with SAN, Veritas clustering, Shareplex & Oracle replication will be a plus.
