MAY BE NEEDED* 11g needed, 7 years minimum as a DBA Qualify candidates on RAC builds Qualify on large environment experience Location: Irving, TX Description: Responsible for designing and building Oracle RAC systems, administering , maintaining Oracle relational databases and assisting the application development teams in optimizing schema design and SQL statements. This person must also be able to work independently as well as a team member with limited supervision, perform daily administration of database systems to prevent outages and plans for optimized system resource utilization. They will contribute to architectural direction and provide the expertise for design and performance of the database structures, assist with database performance tuning , database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues. Support production environment with flexible weekly rotating pager support will also be required. Education/Experience o Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field required. Bachelor degree preferred o 5-7 years experience required o Qualified candidates will possess at least 7 years as an Oracle DBA in HP-UX Itanium/Solaris system most recently building and supporting Oracle 10g/11g databases in RAC environment with ASM. o Experience with very Large OLTP system with very high transaction rate a must. Should have used Physical database modeling using tools such as Erwin or TOAD and developing physical database models from logical models. o Excellent knowledge of Oracle RAC with well organized approach to database administration, troubleshooting and performance tuning is required. o Proficiency in RAC builds, standby database, database installation, creation and upgrades and object management is a must. Having exposure to Oracle Times Ten will be a plus.
