Client is seeking a competitive bid for *two* seasoned ETL Developer consultants. This person will function as part of the Enterprise Data Management department to implement software tools that further Business Intelligence solutions in conjunction with Client’s Enterprise Architecture Initiative. ** B. Candidate Role and Responsibilities The ETL Developer provides design and development for the sourcing, transformation, and delivery of data for the BI platform. The position will collaborate in team efforts to elicit, elaborate, document, validate and communicate core data integration capabilities and processes for a strategic business initiative. This position will have accountability to the Manager of the Enterprise Data Management team and Project leadership to ensure that current and future state business needs are met successfully through data integration. This position requires a grasp of architectural principles, and the ability to understand the business significance of the data. *Position Accountabilities* The following are essential job accountabilities: 1. Participates in business and system analysis and implementation projects to ensure the alignment of strategic business systems with business objectives and requirements: · Creates, validates and maintains integration and data models and other artifacts for use in supporting operational processes, roles, organizations and information delivery · Creates data mapping between source and target data stores. · Develops ETL solutions derived from approved business models, for use in the implementation of BI solutions, existing system enhancement, new system development and/or integration · Participates in JAD sessions for business requirements and system requirements · Ensures that design, and development work is being done on schedule and within budget · Defines, validates, maintains and manages execution against ETL requirements · Successfully works with other team members · Contributes to periodic efforts to refine and improve analysis processes 2. Ensures the alignment of strategic business system implementation with business objectives and requirements: · Consults with business experts, and the integration lead to understand operational requirements and strategic direction · Suggests options for addressing business process improvements 3. The following are ancillary position responsibilities: · Performs other duties as assigned *Specifications:*** Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Science, Computer Science or Business Administration. On evaluation, six years work experience in addition to the minimum may be substituted for the degree. Desirable Education: Training and/or certification in BI and/or BI integration. Minimum Experience: Three (3) years work experience in business intelligence integration (e.g. ETL) design, and development. Two (2) years work experience with Business Objects (preferred) or equivalent experience with Informatica. Work experience working directly with business experts to gather and understand requirements and to deliver high-value solutions. One (1) year of formal modeling experience (UML, ERD, etc.), including, but not limited to data modeling, integration modeling, data mapping, and metadata. One (1) year modeling with tools such as Sybase PowerDesigner, CA Erwin, or Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect. Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable experience: Two (2) years experience with more than one BI integration tool. Preferably BODI. One (1) years experience in BI integration focused on vendor software package configuration and implementation. Key Knowledge: Knowledge of business intelligence methodologies in the context of business process improvement and strategic software development.
