Need: Ruby on Rail Developer
Duration 6-12 months
Location: MN

Rails Developers … Multiple positions! (2)



Contractor will be responsible for development for multiple applications
within the Platform Transformation group at BestBuy.com.



This role involves design and creation of new high scalability applications
in Ruby, JRuby and (occasionally) other JVM based languages. They will be
engaged in pair programming, refactoring, TDD and BDD.   Continuous
integration is a must.



As part of a high-performance team, you should be current with fast tools
and techniques for web development. HTML5 and CSS3 are "permission to play"…
you should also know CoffeeScript from JavaScript, Sass from Compass, and
Rack from Ring.



You must also know how to design high scalability applications for the web.
This includes understanding how the web works, along with good knowledge of
caching and NoSQL data storage.



Skills/experience required

·         Test-driven Development

·         Developing Ruby on Rails applications

·         Aggressive Refactoring

·         High comfort level with *nix

·         Social skills

·         Object Oriented



Skills/experience Recommended

·         Pair Programming (Social skills)

·         Experience with testing frameworks
