*JOB DESCRIPTION:* * Sr. Java Developer* * Houston, TX* * Duration: 6 -12 Months* Mandatory Skills/Experience: - Minimum 7 years experience as a developer in Core Java - Strong experience writing business logic in Core Java for MIDDLE TIER processing - Strong experience with Excel Parsing - Experience with: JSP, Javascript, JBoss, Hibernate, Seam Framework, ANT development The most critical skills are strong experience writing business logic in Core Java for MIDDLE TIER processing........experience with Excel Parsing (parsing data into/out of Microsoft Excel-based templates). *PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:* • Exposure and familiarity with the Independent System Operators – “ISO markets” (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, NYISO) a plus - at least 1 year of experience with any of these. • 1+ years developing and supporting applications in the power generation, marketing, or trading industry. • Intermediate to advanced understanding of various flavors of Linux is strongly preferred. • Prefer BS degree in MIS/CIS/CSE or equivalent formal training RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support and enhance existing systems web applications, web services, and various point-to-point integrations between 100+ internal and external systems. • Work closely with systems support analysts and end user community on discovering/developing detailed Business Requirements, Design, and Test Plans • Assist with portal issues at the asset desk level.
