Job: Oracle Database Administrator Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 12 Months Contract The primary responsibility of this position is the administration of the agency’s Oracle databases. Duties include all database administration and database design activities as they apply to Oracle, and the ability to work in a project-based, team-oriented environment. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:*** *Required Skills:* •7+ years of recent professional experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a 24x7 mission-critical environment on a Solaris environment. •Expert administration skills w/Oracle Enterprise Edition RDBMS 10g and 11g. •Expert w/installation, configuration, and patch management of Oracle 10g and 11g. •Expert w/SQL (DML and DDL) and PL/SQL. Ability to assist development staff with writing PL/SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, and Packages by using best practices, standards, and code-optimization techniques. Ability to create/replace insert/update/delete triggers. •Expert w/managing and implementing database/schema changes, including but not limited to creating/altering tables, constraints, indexes, grants, and sequences. Should be able to write DDL and DML via command line tools (SQL*Plus, Toad, etc.) as well as GUI tools (OEM, Oracle SQL Developer, etc). •Expert w/Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) via both the command-line and OEM. •Expert w/Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) 10g and 11g. •Expert w/Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Grid Control. •Expert w/Oracle Data Guard. •Expert w/Quest Software TOAD for Oracle (including DBA module). TOAD Team Coding is a plus. •Expert w/change control. Ability to coordinate and implement database/schema changes to various environments (Development, Test, Training, QA, and Production). •Coordinate and implement schema changes to various environments (Development, Test, Training, QA, and Production). •Assist various projects with performance tuning PL/SQL Stored Procedures and SQL statements.
