We have an urgent requirement for below position if you are available please send your updated resume to prad...@ziontechsolutions.com BI ( Business Analyst location : Chicago, IL Duration : Long Term Requirements: The position of BI (Business Intelligence) Specialist will exist within the BIC (Business Intelligence Center), and support an enterprise wide business intelligence framework that will provide the organization with the appropriate tools and knowledge to optimize effective evidence-based decision-making. You will engage users to design and develop end to end Business Intelligence solutions, and implement best practices based approach to data interpretation and presentation in BI solutions to support decision-making across the organization and in managing data as a corporate strategic resource. The BI Specialist will work under supervision and in a team environment performing collaborative requirements vetting, data analysis, and data visualization development in best in class BI tools. The Analyst will collaborate across multiple business units, projects, and functional areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Support operational and strategic decisions through the collection, analysis, interpretation and communication of information to key decision-makers. • Engage with users to assess and address needs within the scope of approved development methodologies. • Work within and support the integrated methodologies for data collection, retrieval, presentation, analysis and interpretation. • Assess the information needs of the users and develop ad-hoc and production reports to meet those needs. • Champion the quality and integrity of data collected for decision making and work with the other areas of the organization to ensure consistent reporting of information. Analyzes and makes recommendations for improved data quality. • Participates in process improvement teams and committees by offering analytic skills and knowledge of available data. Can assist in design and creation of data collection and reporting tools. • Provides user education of business intelligence applications and helps ensure access to data with the goal of reduced reliance, over time, on technical specialists in order to obtain data. • Ensures all reported data and information are consistent, relevant and timely. • Troubleshoots BIC / BI tool problems and tunes for performance • Creates reports, report templates, and analytic environments as is necessary to satisfy requirements. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline with an information technology and financial focus required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • 4 - 6 years of experience in BIC environment • Strong knowledge of database technologies & data warehouse methodologies • 4+ years experience using BI tools, preferably Microsoft BI suite. • Advanced SQL coding and database programming skills required. • Previous experience in a Finance organization a plus. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED • Strong Decision Support / Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing experience in 'real world', practical, successful implementations. • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety and multiplicity of tasks and ensure their timely and accurate completion. • Working knowledge of Finance systems. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in areas of responsibility. • Excellent analytical, organization, prioritization and oral/written communication skills. • Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements as applicable to a large financial institution. • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels. • Understands BI tool architecture, functions, and features. • Understands SQL and relational and multi-dimensional database structures and schemas.
