*Role: Parallel Data Warehouse [PDW] Data Modeler /Designer* *Location : Richfield/MN* *Duration : 6 months* [ Possible for Long-term]* Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills * 6+ years of experience in Microsoft Parallel Data Warehouse [PDW] Data Modeler /Designer * 8+ years of experience in Data Modeling and data base design for reporting platforms * Extensive skills in SQL -Server database * Extensive experience Supply Chain business analysis and working experience with business users directly Technical team management experience including offshore team members * Excellent personal communication, leadership, and organizational skills * Retail related data warehousing experience a plus Roles and responsibility * Application Design and Development * Manage project development from initiation to close * Excellent SQL-Server knowledge and performance tuning experience needed * Be accountable for database design and develop pseudo codes based on report requirements * Work with project stakeholders to complete outlining scope, goals, deliverables on-time * Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed * Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders * Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request forms. * Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor. * Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis. * Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution * Stay current with emerging industry trends * Ability to take initiative and ownership on tasks * Good written and oral communication * Explain complex design items through documents and white-board sessions Job Description Supply Chain operational data store (ODS) project is one of the high visible project for Best Buy, a strategic initiative closely monitored by Supply Chain Business Executives and senior leadership.
