Job Title: Systems Administration - Wintel Location: Irving, Texas
Duration: 9+ months (Possibility for CTH) Job Description: Job Purpose: The role is for Microsoft Windows 2008\2012 Systems Analyst within a team dedicated to provide Level 3 support to GCG Mexico. The jobholder will be responsible for Building Windows 2008\2012 Servers to the corporate standard installing various applications that range from In-house written to major SQL Server applications. Once built then the analyst will install the layered applications in most cases in conjunction with Application Support teams or developers. These then are handed over to Level 1 & 2 operational support through controlled acceptance processes. Key Responsibilities: Reporting into the Mexico L3 Server Manager the jobholder will: • Serving as a technical expert providing expert Level 3 support to our Mexico environments. • Improving problem management and stability within environments. • Effectively collaborate with architecture, application development, requirement groups, QA, testing and Project teams. • Assist in the development and updates of departmental process and procedures. • Upgrading and enhancement to tool and automation management. • Work with audit/compliance team to install and maintain security updates and patches. • Manage trouble and request queues ensuring timely resolution of issues. • Assist with analysis, evaluation and preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimisation, development, and maintenance efforts. Knowledge/Experience: • 7 – 10 years hands on experience supporting Windows server platforms. • Process and Controls within a technology infrastructure environment. • Networking with Windows Products (especially TCP/IP and Windows 2008\2012 and SQL 2005-2012) • Experience of Installing, configuring and troubleshooting core windows products, (MS SQL, IIS) • Have worked within a Data Center environment in the financial sector including working with any automated operating system build delivery tools. • Work experience in a project delivery team. • Experience of working with Monitoring, storage and Backups tools and environments – i.e. Tivoli/SAN. • Production of Technical Designs and data flows • High awareness of Windows security issues. • Good knowledge of advanced Windows toolsets, e.g. MMC, Power Shell, VB script • Experience in the following would be advantageous: MS Clustering Citrix Technologies Virtualisation Technologies – (Vmware\MS Hyper-V) Oracle Client configuration Skills: • Superior Problem Solving Skills with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis. • Windows 2012/2008 Server Administration best practices.
