*Business Objects (BO) Developer | Data Warehouse Developer* *Location: Austin, TX*
*Duration: 9 Months* Client wants a Business Objects developer with data warehouse experience. They use MS SQL Server internally and are upgrading from their homegrown underwriting system to policy systems. The role will be 70% ETL development and 30% report development. *POSITION SUMMARY:* The Senior Data Warehouse Programmer is responsible for the design, coding, and testing of: submission process software for Extract, translate, and load (ETL) software, data warehouse console software, data warehouse audit software, data warehouse software build script, and reporting software. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* • Prepare design deliverables for highly complex, custom-developed: o ETL software that receives data from transactional systems and updates the Data o ETL auditing capabilities for capturing, reporting, and correcting bad data o Reports using Business Objects & MS Reporting Services against data warehouses or o Data warehouse software build script • Participate in preparing and maintaining plans to develop custom software and software to integrate with COTS applications • Ability to monitor performance of data warehouse and reporting systems to provide tuning recommendations • Designed software must meet user functional requirements and TWIA service levels for response time and availability • Provide leadership, as required, to a team of programmer/analysts by resolving technical issues, establishing design, coding, and testing priorities • Write document, and unit test code based on designs • Provide periodic status of deliverable and time frames to completion • Trouble shoot, as required, problems with software in production • Formally document designs using established documentation standards such as UML Warehouses transactional databases • Experienced designing data warehouse schemas following industry-accepted design patterns and best practices • Provide guidance to more junior level IT personnel in software design, coding, and testing • Assist in defining the user requirements for application systems • Participate in evaluating and recommending software development tools for data warehouse and reporting services applications • Participate in establishing the overall IT hardware/software architecture • Participate in establishing the IT service level objectives for response time and availability • Participate in developing IT processes and procedures and defining deliverables for system development and system operation *REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: * • Experience in designing dimensional model and data mart development • In-depth knowledge of formal software development processes and best practices • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to actively listen, problem solve, and communicate effectively with both technical and business users Regards, Basha -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle Users" group.
