*Position: UNIX Engineer * *Location: Framingham, MA* *Duration: 3 months* *Interview: Phone and face to face* Description: Work collectively with a multi-discipline team to plan and implement highly visible Retail projects, ensure stable operation of UNIX server environments, and provide guidance and direction on future technologies related to UNIX. *Job Responsibilities* Specific responsibilities include planning, installing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing UNIX server systems, network connections and communication links, designing and implementing system to system interconnectivity with high availability and fault tolerance. The person in this position will also be responsible for delivering 3rd level support, participating in after hours 24x7 support rotation, and maintaining a strong connection with the broader UNIX engineering team. The successful candidate will work on high impact enterprise wide projects, and will have responsibility for reporting and metrics related to services and projects in the Retail and eCommerce space. *Experience Required* The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years experience supporting AIX in a large corporate environment. This individual must also have been involved in leading multiple large scale projects related to AIX servers and providing computing solutions. Project design and delivery is a key function and the candidate should thrive in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of industry best practices related to server administration, monitoring, storage, backup, high availability and disaster recovery is required. We also require excellent interpersonal skills: the candidate must be customer-service focused and comfortable dealing with people at all levels of the organization. IBM AIX certification is preferred. Understanding of PCI/SOX and other compliance requirements along with experience with Retail & e-commerce operations is strongly preferred. Strong root cause analysis and documentation skills are a must. need cluster and high availability experience, familiarity with OS IBM P Series, need to be strong communicator, 10+ years of experience. Specific Experience Required AIX 7.x, 6.x, 5.x NIM Servers HMC devices IBM hardware (Power Servers product line) Scripting expertise (ksh, Perl) Package Development Virtualization configurations using Virtual I/O Servers, LPARS Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent 8-10 years of experience Preferred Veritas High Availability and Storage Foundation Suite Monitoring tools e.g. HP OpenView or NetIQ Qualys or other scanning and remediation compliance tool skills ITIL Change Management Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of experience supporting UNIX Servers in a large corporate setting.
