The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the creation and
maintenance of databases that support all the Business efforts of the
Company. This position is responsible for interfacing with various levels
of the business. The Oracle Database Administrator will augment the
existing team of database administrators in E-Commerce team to support new
initiatives.



Specific Responsibilities:

Support the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability
and security;

Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources
allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum
performance;

Monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum
downtime;

Improve and maintain the databases to include rollout and upgrades;

Provide trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to
make informed decisions regarding resource management;

Own and maintain documentation for database and server infrastructure.



Requirements:



-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
or a related field or the equivalent thereof plus 5 years of progressive,
post-baccalaureate experience in the field. Alternatively, the employer
will accept a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Computer Science or a related field or the equivalent thereof plus 3 years
of experience in the field.



3 years of progressive Oracle Database administration.

Ability to solve complex problems spanning multiple technologies and
disciplines.

Experience with Installation and Maintenance of databases.

Experience with managing databases on data appliances such as Exadata

Experience with Oracle Database administration, upgrades, migrations and
patching.

Experience in monitoring and performance tuning of high availability
databases.

Experience in designing and sizing physical environments for high
availability and high performance databases.

Experience in critical production database support.

Experience in managing data warehousing environments.

Experience in managing multiple RDBMS on large systems.

Expertise with Oracle 10g and 11g;

Expertise with SQL Queries and Shell Scripting.

Experience in Oracle Real Application Cluster & Automatic Storage
Management.

Strong exposure with database backups & recovery using Oracle Recovery
manager– RMAN.

Expertise with Database Design, High Availability and Disaster Recovery
Solutions.

Experience with UNIX administration and Shell Scripting.

Experience in database cloning, database/schema refreshes & other backup &
recovery strategies for OLTP & DSS databases.

Experience in setting up Grid/Cloud control for monitoring databases.

Experience in instance level tuning using oracle’s AWR & ADDM tools, SQL
query tuning using session tracing & tkprof utilities.

Exposure to Net backup.

Interacting with Development teams & Business analyst for the database
requirements & code releases and other Database related activities.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Skills.
